David Crick

David commenced his Broking career in 1982, establishing his own Brokerage in 1994. This was followed by several acquisitions and mergers, culminating in David becoming Head of Commercial Insurance Operations for one of the largest UK Independent Brokerages.

David moved to New Zealand and took over as CEO at Runacres just 3 days before the September earthquake in 2010. Following this he rapidly engaged with clients and insurers, building a strong reputation across the industry. David’s contribution to New Zealand’s Insurance Industry was recognised in 2016 when he was awarded Broking Professional of the Year by the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).  David has also led Runacres as a business to win the ANZIIF Award of Small/Medium Brokerage of the Year in 2015 and 2019. A Fellow of both ANZIIF and IBANZ (The Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand) exemplifies David’s commitment to the Insurance Industry, backed up with leadership skills obtained during his Master of Business Administration Degree obtained in 2008.

As well as leading Runacres Insurance, David is a Senior Broker specialising in larger/complex risk clients and relishes the challenges and opportunities in this arena.

Outside of work David enjoys time spent with his wife Helen and four daughters!  Sports wise both volleyball and tennis are David’s passion, with rugby (footie) now an observer sport following too many injuries during a zealous period of encounters.
